Advent in the Mountains
At the heart of this pretty mountain resort, the enchanting Kitzbühel Christmas Market is the perfect place to look and taste and simply enjoy the magical atmosphere. And there is much else to see and do in the Christmas spirit, including the historical glockenspiel in the tower of the Katharinenkirche, the nativity plays and the various Christmas concerts.
One of the highlights of Advent is the St. Nicholas weekend. On 5 December starting at 6 p.m. the St. Nicholas procession with its cavorting devils is a big attraction. For kids - fairytale hour, pony rides, the children’s Advent calendar competition, the petting zoo and many other exciting items on the Christmas Market children’s program.

Another unique item in the run-up to Christmas in the mountains is the special Advent calendar to be seen in the nearby village of Reith, where 24 buildings are decorated with calendar windows, which are opened one a day starting on 1 December. And the local people have a rare offering of traditional hospitality, inviting visitors to sample their mulled wine, biscuits and music in a private setting.
So get in the mood for one of the nicest times of the year, and join us in Kitzbühel to celebrate Christmas the way it should be celebrated!
