With the wave of a magic wand the city is transformed into a wonderful Christmas decor. Only 50 metres
from the Grand Place on Rihour Square, some 80 chalets are installed.
Craftsmen from the local area and other regions of France propose original and interesting gift ideas: typical food
and produce to taste and to take away, Christmas decorations, jewellery, kid’s toys, mulled wine, waffles,
gingerbread...
The Big Wheel offers an unspoilt view of the entire city, full of illuminations. Each year, the shops of
the old town, the pedestrian centre, Euralille and the rue Léon Gambetta are open throughout December,
offering a wide selection of gifts and souvenirs.
Lille's Christmas Market is the first to open in France.The shops are open on the three Sundays preceding Christmas.
