Location:
Mulhouse
22 Nov to 30 Dec 2008
Mulhouse is famous for its fabric makers and, at Christmas, they celebrate with a wonderful fabric market which includes the unveiling of a new design each year. Holidaymakers can even create their own fabric design at the Fabric Museum. The market also sells a variety of Christmas gifts, traditional food and wine and a selection of handmade crafts. The half-timbered houses, decorations and fabulous illuminations help create a very traditional feel
Place de la Réunion: the historic heart of the city is home to an impressive Christmas Market that has maintained its authenticity in a prestigious setting. At the foot of the Temple Saint-Etienne, it is lined with the typical and colourful façades of the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall). Fifty illuminated chalets offer a wide choice of high quality crafted products and festive gourmet treats in the spice-scented ambiance of mulled wine.
Childrens Market
As the privileged guests of Christmas festivities, children now have their own special Market, nestling in the heart of the Parc Steinbach. In this snowy green setting with its beautiful merry-go-round, the light effects and decorations will create a magical atmostphere.
Throughout these four Advent weeks, stories, shows and donkey rides will make this festive period special, not forgetting a visit from Santa Claus...
