Enjoy Wiesbaden´s Christmas Market with its special atmosphere
Twinkling Star Market 25 November to 23 December 2008
The idyllic Schlossplatz with the historic city palace – today residence of the Hessian State Parliament – is the atmospheric location for the Christmas market between 27 November and 23 December 2008.
Four entry gates, decorated with the golden lilies of the city´s coat of arms lend access to this quaint fairytale scenery. Arts and crafts, some of them created while watching, are offered at nostalgic market stands, all designed in the traditional Wiesbaden colours blue and gold.
For the culinary wellbeing there is plenty: Seasonal bakery goods and sweets as well as heart– and hand warming drinks are served. Children can enjoy merry-go-round and toy-train rides around the tall shimmering Christmas tree. A wood carver can be watched while creating life size figures for the nativity scene. Seasonal concerts. Carol singing, nativity plays, and fairytale tellers add to this charming atmosphere.
