Traditional Festival Christmas Market
11 Dec to 23 Dec 2010 (prov)
12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS at DOCKLANDS
Now in its 5th year. You don’t have to go as far as Munich, Vienna or Prague to experience a traditional European festive market this Christmas. For something uniquely different just head to Dublin’s Docklands where, for the first time ever in Ireland, a European style traditional Christmas market will be created at Georges Dock in the IFSC.
The ‘12 Days of Christmas’ market features beautifully decorated stands selling Christmas decorations; seasonal food and unusual craft gifts. As part of the festive atmosphere, there will also be traditional fairground attractions; mulled wine sellers; carol singing; a German theme bar, eating area and plenty more Christmas entertainment.
This special Christmas Festival will take place at Georges Dock in the IFSC, in Docklands over the 12 days of Christmas. Starting 12th December and continuing to 23rd December, opening hours are from 12 noon to 8pm. Visitors will enter this winter wonderland of twinkling lights and Christmas trees through the arch at Custom House Quay.
The 12 Days of Christmas in Docklands promises to be a magical festive experience for families and shoppers alike in the run-up to Christmas. Go visit, and see for yourself how much the Docklands area is changing.

How to say "Merry Christmas" in Gaelic: Nollaig chridheil agus Bliadhna mhath ùr!
The Live Animal Crib
8 – 24 Dec 2009
Mansion House
Free
The Live Crib consists of a traditional nativity scene set among live animals in a specially constructed, life-size stable. The animals are brought to the Crib every morning and are returned to a farm on the outskirts of the city in the evening.
The Live Animal Crib is based on a similar Crib, which has been a feature of Christmas in the Grande Place, in Brussels for many years. It is the only one of its kind in the country and is meant as a gesture of goodwill from the Farmers of Ireland to the people of Dublin as they celebrate Christmas.
Timings: Daily 11.00am - 7.00pm, Christmas Eve: Closes at 6.00pm
