Trento
Nov – Dec
Many towns and locations in Trentino host Christmas markets every winter, renewing a long and much-loved tradition. The ancient city walls frame the dozens of wooden huts colouring Piazza Fiera, with their sculptures, pottery, floral compositions, arts and crafts, decorations and many delicious local specialities.
Arco
The historic centre turns into a stage for about 40 stands with the marvels of arts and crafts, local delicacies such as the "apple brule'", local cheeses and honeys. As every year there is the possibility to take a camel ride on the streets of the village on Ali the Camel or a village train ride through Arco and surrounding areas.
Levico
Set in the secular Parco delle Terme among majestic trees, is like a journey of discovery among the tastes and scents of Valsugana in the best Hapsburg tradition. There will be a magnificent Hapsburg style horse-drawn carriage to take visitors to the most picturesque corners of Levico.
In the nearby medieval town of Andalo the stands selling Christmas decoration, delicious food and "brule' wine" are open from 2 to 24 December.
In Rovereto the main streets and the historical piazzas of the town will host the Christmas Market from 27 November 2010 to 2 January 2011, the "Christmas of the People" is a showcase of the best Xmas artisan works from Northern Europe. www.nataletrentino.it (in Italian only)
