The 17fh edition of Montreux Noël will feature: • 5 different spaces • 5 different atmospheres:
Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, it is the most beautiful Christmas Market with its 150 artisans and merchants, Gift ideas by the thousands, chalets decorated and illuminated in the grand tradition of Christmas. Taste our local specialities in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Christmas village A special treat for this years visitors to the Christmas village in the mountains, in the village of Caux above Montreux. There will be a live nativity scene, Santa Claus's animals, games for children and play areas and visitors can enjoy a glorious panorama of Lake Geneva and the Alps.
New: a discovery space Cross-country skiing in the palm of Montreux. On the docks from the market square to the Casino, visitors can rent skis and discover the sport gently, with a stop for mulled wine.
Santa Claus A visit to Santa Claus, in his house perched at the top of the Rochers de Naye above Montreux, is an absolute must. For the seventh consecutive year, his house and his office will be visited by thousands of children and will doubtless be a meeting place for families between 24 November and 24 December 2011.
The Middle Ages at the Château de Chillon Within the walls of the Château de Chillon, the 5th Montreux Noël Medieval Market and Story Festival will take place each weekend.
The Medieval Market is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to go back in time and plunge into the history of the Middle Ages as illustrated by characters in period costumes. The Story Festival will transport visitors into the fascinating world of tales of chivalry and great stories of bygone years.
