The Christmas Market
Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, it is the most beautiful Christmas Market with its 150 artisans and merchants. Gift ideas by the thousands, chalets decorated and illuminated in the grand tradition of Christmas.
Mulled wine or lumberjack tea around the fire, regional specialties, Christmas shows and the Ferris wheel complete your visit to the market before you go on to discover the next attraction.
A prestigious guest
Sweden is the guest of honour of the 14th Montreux Noël. A typical Swedish village and restaurant will offer a variety of Nordic specialties Swedish style. Legends and traditions will be featured in a winter decor. The feast of St. Lucy on 13 December, as well as various costumed presentations on the village square will be one of the cultural components offered by our guest.
Santa Claus
A visit to Santa Claus, in his house perched at the top of the Rochers de Naye above Montreux, is an absolute must. For the fifth consecutive year, his house and his office will be visited by thousands of children and will doubtless be a meeting place for families between 27 November and 24 December 2008.
The Middle Ages at the Château de Chillon.
Within the walls of the Château de Chillon, the 2nd Montreux Noël Medieval Market will take place over three weekends (6-7-8 / 13- 14 / 20-21 December 2008).
The Medieval Market is an opportunity to go back in time and plunge into the history of the Middle Ages illustrated by characters in period costumes. The Story Festival will transport the visitor into the fascinating world of tales of the knights and counts of Savoie.
